ABOUT FREESTONE FARM

In 2013 we were at a crossroads.  A chronic medical condition required either changes to diet and lifestyle or a life-long prescription. We learned about the health implications of what we ate and began a food journey that changed our lives and bettered our health.

Today, we raise our livestock and vegetables the way they were intended.  In fields, not factories.  We avoid the use of pesticides and herbicides on our farm, preferring instead to support the biology within our soil for the benefit of the plants and livestock above the soil.  We are persuaded that this will create both resilience in our farm and nutrient-density in the food we produce.

We are thankful for the opportunity to be a source of nourishment and food security

for our family and yours.

We purchased this farm in 2021 and began with breaking ground for our market garden.  That was closely followed by the arrival of our chickens that became our first year's broiler flock that we raised on pasture and processed ourselves, as well as the chicks that would form the foundation of our egg laying flock.

Our desire to grow the farm continues, and we plan to add additional gardens, hoop houses, and livestock, in modest increments each year, as we develop our knowledge and confidence as producers.
